Position Summary
The Operations Assistant provides entry-level administrative and clerical support to the Operations Team. This role is crucial for maintaining organized production records, assisting with basic documentation flow, and ensuring general office efficiency for the Operations Department.  The successful candidate will assist with initial data entry, learn foundational processes within the company's ERP system, and help maintain a smooth administrative workflow between the office and the shop floor. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Lloydminster facility. 

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Office Support

• Perform general office duties to support efficient department operations, including filing, scanning, photocopying, and organizing production-related documentation (e.g., work orders, safety sheets, QA-QC). 
• Coordinate the preparation and distribution of internal documents and packages. 
• Assist in setting up and preparing new files, folders, and documentation templates. 
• Serve as a reliable point of contact for routine administrative inquiries directed to the Operations Team. 

Data Entry & Systems Integration

• Assist the Operations Team with basic data entry for production records, material usage, and work order status updates. 
• Learn and assist with basic material tracking and inventory view functions within the ERP system. 
• Run and distribute standard, pre-configured reports from the ERP system as directed. 

Shop Floor Coordination

• Help coordinate the flow of materials or paperwork between the office and the warehouse/shop floor.
• Support the coordination of shop floor documentation and liaise with production leads for basic administrative needs. 
• Engage cross-functionally with team members to assist with clerical tasks as needed to maintain production momentum. 

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: High School Diploma. 
• Experience: 0-1 years of experience in a clerical or administrative support role.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment is considered a strong asset. 
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office tools.
• The ability to perform accurate, high-volume data entry is required. 
• Competencies: Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and a strong willingness to learn. 
• Adaptability: Ability to stay organized and manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment. 
• Requirements: Ability to provide a clean driver's abstract. 

Working Conditions & Hours

• Hours: Normal working hours are 8 working hours per day, between 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break.
• Punctuality is essential; the employee is expected to start work no later than 8:00 am weekdays. 
• Environment: This position is based on-site at an active manufacturing facility. The role requires regular interaction with production and operations personnel, and movement throughout the shop floor environment. 
• Safety: The incumbent must be comfortable working in proximity to manufacturing equipment and must strictly adhere to all safety protocols and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements when entering the shop area.

The Machinist is responsible for fabricating high-quality precision parts using a variety of conventional and Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, saws, and general shop equipment. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and engineering diagrams to determine production sequences, establish tolerances, and ensure all completed components conform strictly to company and industry specifications. The Machinist is expected to monitor equipment performance, detect malfunctions, maintain a clean workspace, and uphold rigorous safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Precision Machine Operation: Set up, program, and operate a variety of conventional and CNC machine tools (including lathes, mills, and saws) to fabricate high-quality, custom precision parts.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and analyze complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to determine production sequences, material requirements, and strict tolerance criteria.
• Quality Control & Inspection: Verify part dimensions with 100% accuracy using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and height gauges.

Position Summary

The Parts & Inventory Lead plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Parts & Inventory team at Upstream Data. This position is responsible for organizing, tracking, and assembling parts required for builds across multiple departments, including Fabrication, Welding, Electrical, Industrial Mechanics, and Machining. The Parts & Inventory Lead ensures accuracy, efficiency, and organization in the parts process to support production schedules and maintain optimal inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Delegate daily operational tasks to the Supply Chain team, including picking, material movement, and facility cleanliness.
• Train warehouse personnel on engine part identification, ERP system best practices, and safe warehouse operations.
• Ensure the team consistently meets daily kitting deadlines and maintains a 99% accuracy threshold in both physical counts and system entries.

Production Kitting & Shop Support

• Oversee and streamline the comprehensive "Kitting" process for Engine Rebuilds and Fabrication projects, ensuring every bolt, gasket, and individual component is verified and delivered to the correct bay before technicians begin work.
• Coordinate directly with Plant Managers to dynamically adjust parts delivery schedules based on shifting production priorities or urgent "Special Projects."

Inventory Integrity & Audit

• Reconcile receiving errors, investigate stock discrepancies identified during cycle counts, and execute corrective measures.
• Perform quality assurance spot checks on incoming high-value components to ensure they meet strict quality specifications before being binned.
• Administer routine inventory count procedures and rolling counts to confirm data integrity and minimize system inventory variance.
• Manage the Core Return program for engine components, tracking high-value trade-ins and ensuring they are processed and shipped to vendors to capture maximum financial credits.

Warehouse & Facility Logistics

• Architect the warehouse layout and storage strategy to maximize storage density and minimize "pick time" for the Parts and Inventory team.
• Ensure all material handling equipment (including forklifts, pallet jacks, and racking systems) is regularly inspected and maintained in strict accordance with Alberta OHS standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of progressive industrial experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing a warehouse or parts department.
• High level of proficiency using ERP software to manage complex, multi-location inventory. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace tools.
• Practical, working understanding of Alberta OHS legislation. Hands-on experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of project cost tracking, inventory flow principles, and industrial production documentation.
• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License with the ability to provide a clean driver’s abstract.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong cross-functional communication skills, a self-motivated approach, and the adaptability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Balance stock levels to support Just-in-Time (JIT) production requirements while maintaining appropriate Just-in-Case safety stock.
• Safely prepare, pack, and document outgoing shipments, including the creation of bills of lading and customs paperwork for cross-border transit.

Safety, Leadership & Housekeeping

• Mentor and train junior warehouse staff, parts clerks, or apprentices on proper part identification, warehouse safety protocols, and ERP best practices.
• Ensure all material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, racking) is safely operated and maintained to Alberta OHS standards.
• Actively maintain a clean, organized workspace in alignment with facility 5S and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Alberta Journeyman Parts Technician certification or a recognized Interprovincial Red Seal equivalent is preferred.
• Experience working in an industrial parts department, heavy equipment dealership, or manufacturing warehouse setting.

The Engine Rebuild Technician is responsible for the systematic disassembly, inspection, diagnostics, and precise reassembly of automotive engines within our specialized power generation shop. Whether you are an experienced mechanic or a highly motivated individual with a strong baseline of heavy mechanical skills, this position offers the opportunity to work on complex industrial builds within a structured, safety-first production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Rebuilding & Assembly

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, measure, and rebuild engines and sub-assemblies in strict accordance with OEM manufacturer specifications and Upstream Data quality standards.
• Safely operate pneumatic tools, impact guns, overhead cranes, and specialized pulling or measuring equipment to avoid damaging high-value internal cores.
• Prepare, clean, and degrease engine components using parts washers or hot tanks prior to final inspection and reassembly.

Diagnostics & Preventative Maintenance

• Troubleshoot and diagnose engine failures or mechanical deficiencies, determining the most efficient and cost-effective course of action for repairs.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, component replacements, and quality testing on engines and related equipment.
